Dr Goh Shen Li graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1999 and obtained her postgraduate qualification from the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in UK in 2003. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (London) and a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine (Singapore).
Prior to setting up S L Goh Women’s Clinic, Dr Goh worked in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital for 15 years. She was the Deputy Head of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and practised as a Senior Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the department. Having worked in KK Hospital for many years, she has much experience in the various aspects of obstetrics and gynaecology practice and has performed many deliveries and gynaecological surgeries.
In recognition of exemplary service, she is an awardee of multiple accolades for excellent patient care. She was the first specialist amongst her peers at KK Hospital to receive the Star Award for the national Excellent Service Awards (EXSA) in 2008, after being awarded the EXSA Silver and Gold Awards in consecutive years. In addition, she was conferred the Singapore Health Quality Service Star Awards in 2010 and again in 2012. She was also one of the few nominees for the Superstar Award in 2012. She has won 5 Service From The Heart Awards over the years and was the recipient of the CEO Heart Award in 2012.
Apart from her clinical practice, she was also formerly the Associate Program Director of the Singapore Health Services Obstetrics & Gynaecology Residency Program (the national training program for O & G trainees). As part of her expertise and role in training future specialists, she held appointments as Adjunct Assistant Professor, Senior Clinical Lecturer and MBBS Examiner at the School of Medicine in the National University of Singapore and as Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. In recognition of her outstanding contribution to the residency program and medical education, she received the Outstanding Faculty Award and Faculty Appreciation Award in the Singhealth RISE Awards in 2014.
She has published in various scientific journals and has presented papers in medical conferences in Singapore and internationally. She is a member of the Academic Medicine Education Institute and remains actively involved in the teaching and training of future specialists at courses. She is credentialed to practise at Mount Alvernia Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Orchard Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital, Parkway East Hospital, Thomson Medical Centre, Raffles Hospital and Novena Surgery Centre.
She was previously the Chairman of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Committee for three consecutive terms from 2018 - 2023, as well as being a board member of the Medical Advisory Board at Mount Alvernia Hospital for the same duration. Since 2015, she has been on the Editorial Advisory Board for Young Parents magazine and contributes articles for the magazine frequently.
Being a mother of three, she understands how each pregnancy and delivery is unique and hopes to help her patients enjoy the journey.
